GAME DAY IN THE RAIN

I (Emily) had never been a sports fan growing up, but after I met my husband, that all changed. He is the biggest sports fan there is, especially where Chicago teams come in to play (no pun intended lol).

Throughout our time of dating, I went to my first NBA and NFL game, several Nationals games (specifically when they were playing the Cubs). Another game Sam took me to was a college football game- Navy vs. #6 Houston.

Now you might be thinking the title of this blog in Game Day in the Rain? Yes, sadly we had planned a whole day in Annapolis, but it was accompanied with several rain clouds. We did get to explore some shops around the town and visited the U.S. Naval Academy.

By the time the game started we were drenched. This did not ruin the experience or the fun by any means, in fact it made it more memorable! We got to enjoy some warm hot chocolate and a win for Navy! This game was one of the biggest upsets in Navy’s history, and we had front row seats! We also got to see the most beautiful sunset with colors I have never seen before!

Needless to say-my first college football game was an experience-one that I will never forget.

PRACTICAL INFO:
Parking:

We parked in a garage a little outside of the stadium, because we wanted to explore Annapolis throughout the day. Getting there is easy; you may want to leave a few minutes early to beat the exiting crowds.

Tickets:

My Father-in-Law was able to find tickets online for around $30 (sometimes they can be up to $50, depending on seating and the team they play).

Food:

There are concessions available, complete with coffee and hot chocolate.
