Most Beautiful Places To Visit This Spring In The USA

The USA has some of the most beautiful places to visit in the spring. Here are the places you cannot miss!

DC, USA

During the spring, the cherry blossom festival is prime time for visiting DC. And arguably the prettiest time to visit. But between the fantastic weather and the gorgeous flowers, comes huge amounts of crowds! I have the best tips on the best times to visit the cherry blossoms and avoid the crowds!

Peak time can be anywhere from late March to the end of April. I always use the Cherry Blossom Watch website, it will tell give you the predicted peak time for that year as well as the dates for the Cherry Blossom Festival. The best way to avoid the crowds is early in the morning and during the week! We made the mistake of going on a Saturday and at one point we couldn’t even walk because there were so many people!

The main mode of transportation in DC is the Metro. It is very easy to use and cheap on the weekends/non-peak hours. (Our cost was around $6 with a return on Saturday). The closest Metro stop would be Smithsonian or the Federal Triangle (a little farther from the blossoms).

Here are just a few of my favorite spots to enjoy the blossoms! (Great for Instagram photos too)!

New York City, New York

Springtime is one of the best periods for visiting New York City. Why you are asking? Because nature thrives, the temperature raises and the full city awakens after the long and cold winter. Also, the colors in New York City change during this time and the atmosphere is brighter and shinier.

The perfect times to go and enjoy spring at its best in NYC is probably from mid-March to the end of May. I would suggest finding a hotel or accommodation in Manhattan, near Central Park. The reason why I would pick it is that during spring the park flourishes and you will be surrounded by a multitude of blossoming flowers and trees.

Also, there are many flowers shows you can enjoy at this time of the year and see spectacular flower arrangements. Moreover, visiting NYC during spring allows you to participate in some great festivals, parades, and celebrations. (eg. Saint Patrick’s Day, Folk Music Festival, Easter Parade, etc.) You will see how the New Yorkers finally leave their apartments to finally be social and meet others. At last, with the weather getting warmer and the days getting longer you can enjoy sipping coffee, cocktails, or wine at a sidewalk café or packing a picnic and heading for an outdoor day.

Also, NYC is famous for its street food and it is super easy to grab a hot dog or a pretzel and walk through the city’s streets and enjoy its amazing atmosphere. Book your trip now to NYC for next spring now and you will not regret it!

Destin, Florida

Destin is the best Spring destination in the US if you are looking to escape the cold and want to enjoy beautiful sunshine while relaxing on the white sand beaches. Located in the northwest part of the Sunshine State, Destin is one of the best places to live in Florida. Beyond the sugar-white sandy beaches, emerald-hued waters there are a variety of activities that you can enjoy in Destin with your family and kids. The best time to visit Destine is in the month of April and May when the water is warm, the sky is clear with bright sunshine and the weather is pleasant.

If you visit Destin in Spring, take advantage of the annual event of Emerald Coast Volleyball Week which takes place in April at The Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island. Even if you are not a volleyball player, you can still enjoy the costume contest and evening parties. Destin is also known as ‘the world’s luckiest fishing village’. Rent a fishing boat and catch king mackerel, jack crevalle, pompano, and many more fishes.

Looking for something adventurous? Go parasailing and jetskiing, or flyboarding. Individuals can enjoy stand-up paddleboarding on the Bay and bike through the scenic Gulf Drive. The most relaxing way to explore Destin and surrounding areas and islands between Okaloosa Island and Navarre is to rent a private boat for a group or families.

There are plenty of seafood joints in Destin. You can stop at Marina Café and try their fresh-caught fish, and mouthwatering steaks. TOPS’L Beach Manor II is highly recommended if you are planning to stay overnight. It offers air conditioning, free WiFi, and a beautiful sea view balcony.

Boulder, Colorado

One of the most beautiful places to visit this spring in the USA is Boulder, Colorado. Located only a short drive from both Rocky Mountain National Park and Denver, this underrated destination is one place you won’t want to miss!

In the spring, Boulder is truly starting to come alive again after a cold winter. The hiking trails aren’t as busy, there aren’t as many tourists, and for the most part, the weather is pretty fantastic. The best time to go is right in early April!

While in Boulder, the top thing to do is to hike the Flatirons, one of the most iconic parts of the Rocky Mountains. There are strenuous and easy hikes here, but do one of the easier hikes if you’re there for a short period of time. The park rangers are super helpful in helping you pick the perfect trail for your trip.

Other great things to do include touring the Coors Brewery and shopping on Pearl Street. Boulder is also filled with tons of excellent places to eat, but the place that you can’t miss is called Foolish Craig’s. It’s a breakfast and lunch joint with some of the best crepes, and it was even featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives!

Be sure to book your stay at Hotel Boulderado, a historic hotel set right in Boulder’s downtown. If you’re on a budget, you can consider Foot of the Mountain Motel instead!

Moab, Utah

Picture whacky-looking red rock formations, views of canyons as far as the eye can see, and desert landscapes that look as though they came straight out of Mars and you’ll get a pretty good idea of what visiting Moab is all about.

This stunning region in southeastern Utah is wonderful to visit almost any time of the year, but April and May bring in lovely weather for hiking in the desert. A few of the best hikes in Moab include Delicate Arch trail, Devil’s Garden, and Fiery Furnace, all of which will give you the chance to get close and personal with Moab’s striking national parks: Canyonlands and Arches.

Moreover, April brings in snowmelt, making it a prime spot to experience a rafting adventure down the Colorado River. If you’re keen to feel what camping in the desert is like, spring is a great time to give it a go because clear skies make stargazing a true treat (both Canyonlands and Arches are world-renowned for being prime night sky spots).

If you’re not too keen on camping, Moab has a ton of hotels available for all budgets. An amazing hotel is the Red Cliffs Lodge, which is located on the banks of the Colorado River and provides incredible views of foot cliffs all over. As for where to eat, Love Muffin Café offers lovely breakfasts and the Josie Wyatt’s Grille is amazing for dinner, especially if you’re keen to try southwestern cuisine with a twist.

Fredericksburg, Texas

If you are looking for the most beautiful places in the USA to visit in the spring, then look no farther than the Texas Hill Country and the area around Fredericksburg.

While Fredericksburg is only one of the charming Texas small towns in the Hill Country, it is one of the best. Spring in Texas (late March-April) means bluebonnet season and the area in and around Fredericksburg is prime bluebonnet territory.

Driving the back road around Fredericksburg, specifically, the Willow City Loop treats visitors to fields blanketed with the beautiful blue state flower. This is the perfect time to explore, as the weather is great in the spring. Spring brings sunshine and mild temperatures to this region of the Lone Star State.

In addition to enjoying the wildflowers, visitors can also enjoy the other activities that Fredericksburg has to offer.  Hike at Enchanted Rock State Park, do some shopping on Main Street, check out the museums in town, and explore the many wineries that call this area home.

Of course, you will need a place to stay while you explore. Luckily, Fredericksburg is home to some amazing bed and breakfasts and several hotels, like the Inn on Barons Creek.  During your visit, be sure to eat at one of the German restaurants in town as German immigrants originally settled in Fredericksburg.  A couple of favorites include The Auslander and Der Lindenbaum.

Page, Arizona

A great place to visit this Spring is Page, Arizona. Page is a small town on the Arizona-Utah border. Spring is a great time to visit because of the perfect weather and little chance for rain. The weather during the spring months has a high in the 60s or 70s with little to no chance of rain. This area gets hot in the summer so it is really nice to visit before the warmer temperatures hit.

One of the best things to do in Page, Arizona is to tour Antelope Canyon. It is a picturesque slot canyon filled with wave-like structures on the wall. The canyon is on Navajo lands, so you do have to go on a tour, but it is well worth your ticket price.

Spring is a great time to visit Antelope Canyon because mid-March is when you can start seeing the light beams in Lower Antelope Canyon. They are really pretty and a unique feature of the canyon this time of year. You will most likely see light beams between 11 AM and 1:30 PM.

Another really fun thing to do is walk out to Horseshoe Bend, a 270-degree bend in the Colorado River. You can also visit nearby Lake Powell for water activities and beautiful views.

A great place to stay in Page is at the Courtyard by Marriott Page at Lake Powell. If temperatures are warm enough, they have an outdoor pool. After a day of touring the sites, be sure to stop in at the BirdHouse for some fried-chicken and craft beer.

Mammoth Lakes, California

Mammoth Lakes, California is the perfect place to visit in the springtime. It’s a charming town nestled in the Eastern Sierra Nevadas, with epic mountain views, small-town vibes, and endless natural beauty. Mammoth is perhaps best known as a wintertime destination, with world-class ski resorts like Mammoth Mountain and June Mountain offering excellent slopes and even better powder.

The Eastern Sierras not only provide skiers and snowboarders with epic views but, because of the uniquely high elevation, the ski season lasts long into the springtime (usually through at least the beginning of May). If you plan your trip for late spring (late April through May), some of the lower elevation hikes in the area may become snow-free, providing a countless array of day hikes and backpacking opportunities to enjoy the dry and pleasant springtime weather.

After all that snowboarding and hiking, your muscles will surely need some relaxation- luckily, there are several beautiful natural hot springs in Mammoth Lakes to explore, where you can soak in the warm waters, drink in the epic views, and recount your outdoor adventures. While Mammoth’s main draw is its stunning nature, the town itself is absolutely worth exploring, offering everything from awesome craft breweries, like Distant Brewing, to really tasty pho at Noodle-ly. For the full Mammoth Lakes experience, consider a stay at the Village Lodge Mammoth, an expansive ski lodge with a rustic charm and, more importantly, an outdoor heated pool to enjoy during those cooler springtime nights.

Crater Lake, Oregon

Oregon has some of the most beautiful and unique landscapes you will ever see! From forests to beaches, to craters, you will be in awe of this amazing destination! There are so many stunning overlooks and hikes for exploring Oregon. One of the best ways to explore Oregon is a road trip!

If you visit anything in Oregon, let it be Crater Lake! ‘Deep Water in a Sleeping Volcano’ Crater Lake is a stunning masterpiece of nature!  A violent eruption caused the collapse of a tall peak. Crater Lake is the deepest lake in the USA and one of the cleanest! Its pristine waters are fed by rain and snow and can boast of being the clearest blue.

Things to do: If you only have 3 hours or less and want to see those stunning views of the lake, consider driving the Rim Drive. A 33-mile road that surrounds Crater Lake has more than 30 overlooks for those panoramic shots!

If you have more than 3 hours consider hiking Wizard Island! There are three different boat tours, depending on what you want to do. Choose from encircling Wizard Island to relaxing on the island, to hiking to the top of the crater! With each tour, you will be amazed by the pure beauty of Crater Lake.
