Have you really experienced fall without going to a pumpkin patch? This year we decided to go to Great Country Farms. We had the most perfect day for it! It was cool, but sunny; and not a rain cloud in sight!
We arrived in the afternoon to a very full parking lot; but were able to snag a spot in the back. After waiting in a short line to get in-we headed to the store. They had everything from apple slushies to pumpkin cream rolls. As well as lavender soaps (my favorite) and even t-shirts.
To get to the pumpkin patch, you take a wagon ride. It is a little bumpy, but only about 2 minutes away. They drop you off right in front of the pumpkins and you can then make your choice.
They have big ones, white ones, gourds, and even a whole field dedicated to mini pumpkins. I was a little worried there wouldn’t be many left, due to the crowds and how late we went in the year. But there were plenty and they were quality pumpkins as well.
Now the most exciting part of the trip was…we got to see a sunflower field! Right behind the pumpkins were sunflowers as far as the eye could see!! I had been wanting to go to a sunflower field all summer and we finally made it, by accident! 😊
