Middleburg is one of my favorite places to visit, especially during Christmas! It’s such a cute 18th century town complete with cafes, resorts, and boutiques – the perfect travel destination for any time of year! Walking down the aproximately 1 mile main street will only take 30-40 minutes. However, plan for extra time to look through all the wonderful shops!
Every December Middleburg, aka horse country, holds a Christmas parade. There are many festivities throughout the day too – including craft shows, lunches, and Santa’s workshop.
Sam and I usually get there around 9-10am; just because parking and a spot to see the parade can be limited. After we park, we head right towards the Cuppa Giddy Up (did I mention horse country) to get a warm drink! Their hot chocolate is amazing – complete with cinnamon on top! While still drinking the delicious cocoa; we head towards an open spot to watch the parade! (We snatched the spot right outside the bank).
Now, there is a smaller parade that starts around 11am and is called the “Middleburg Hunt and Hounds Review”. This is where foxhunt riders and hounds stroll down the Middleburg main street. It’s so fascinating to see all the majestic horses and hounds!
