Spring break is the perfect time to plan a trip anywhere in the world! From singles to families, there are destinations for everyone. Here are the top amazing places to go for Spring Break.
Chicago, United States
Chicago is one of the best places to visit in the United States for spring break especially, for families and couples. The city offers many indoor and outdoor attractions and activities for travelers of all ages including taking photos at Cloud Gate (the iconic mirrored sculpture known as The Bean). Children will especially enjoy Navy Pier, a lakefront pier with a large Ferris wheel, a children’s museum, and other fun activities. There are also several museums including the Art Institute of Chicago and the Museum of Science and Industry.
Spring break in Chicago is a great popular time to visit as the temperature starts to warm up after the cold winter. If you visit in mid-March, you can enjoy St. Patrick’s Day events including parades and watching the Chicago River being dyed green. Those visiting in April can see flowers starting to bloom throughout the city including tulips on Michigan Avenue and even cherry blossoms.
The top places to eat in Chicago include Lou Malnati’s or Giordano’s for deep-dish pizza and Portillo’s for Chicago-style hot dogs. There is no shortage of hotels in Chicago but my top choice is LondonHouse Chicago. This luxury hotel is conveniently located and offers great views of the river and city skyline.

Oahu, United States
If you’re looking for amazing places to go for spring break, then Oahu, Hawaii must be on your list! It’s a busy island full of adventure. Perfect beaches, beautiful landscapes and you’ll find plenty of things to do on Oahu, too.
Oahu, Hawaii is a fantastic spot for nearly any traveler. Families love Hawaii for its unique culture and laid-back vibe. Couples find Oahu very romantic. And there are plenty of adventures for solo travelers, too!
While on Oahu, be sure to visit the famous Waikiki Beach. Its surf-worthy waves, fantastic restaurants, and nearby nightlife make this a must-see while on the island. A tour of Pearl Harbor is a much heavier day, but one that will make you appreciate this tiny island, and those who were lost protecting it. To really see the island, rent a car and experience the North Shore and Windward Coast.
And for a bit of adventure, Oahu is perfect for hiking.
And there are many easy Oahu hikes for all abilities. One of the most popular spots is the quick, but moderately strenuous Diamond Head Trail. By hiking to the top of the crater, you’ll get to see amazing island views! Witness Waikiki Beach from above, and the stunning coast of Oahu.
Be sure to try a shaved ice, Poke bowl, and a freshly made acai bowl – all specialties on Oahu! Oh, and the malasadas at Leonard’s Bakery are a staple on Oahu. Of course, you’ll find excellent fresh fish and shrimp, as well as plenty of Mai Tai’s all around the island.
There are plenty of hotels and vacation rentals all throughout the island. Staying in the heart of Honolulu puts you in close proximity to popular attractions. If you’re after the beauty of the island, a vacation rental outside of Honolulu might be the right fit for you.

Miami, United States
Miami is undoubtedly one of the best places to go for spring break, for both friends and couples. With so many people also coming to the city for vacation, it’s got the ideal combination of social scenes and beach vibes to round out an ideal holiday.
While there’s a lot to do in Miami, the two main areas you’ll want to head to are South Beach and various places around Brickell. While you can stay in either one, I’d recommend staying near the beach if you want to spend a lot of time there as Miami traffic can get crazy.
Brickell, on the other hand, means more options overall for dining and shopping, as well as easy access to Key Biscayne. But regardless of where you choose, you should definitely make it to Key Biscayne. It’s filled with beaches, bike lanes, state parks, and has a much better nature vibe than anywhere on South Beach.
While on the Key, you can stop for dinner and drinks at the Rusty Pelican, which has some absolutely killer sunset views and a happy hour to match. Beyond the beach, Miami is filled with artsy entertainment. Don’t forget a good camera for a fashion shoot with street art in trendy Wynwood. One of my personal fave restaurants, 1-800-Lucky, serves up some delicious Asian fusion in an upscale market-style setting in the neighborhood.
If y’all are into electronic music or dancing in general, check out what’s going on at Space Nightclub, which is truly Miami’s coolest place to party.

Canada
Montreal, Quebec is the perfect place to spend spring break. Whether you’re traveling solo, with the girls, or on a family getaway, you’ll find plenty to do in this charming city.
There are so many wonderful things to do in Montreal year-round. Head to Bota-Bota, a floating spa, where you can soak in hot pools amongst the icy winter waters of the St. Lawrence River. Walk to Habitat 67 to see an architectural wonder built for a world expo. Window shop the boutiques of Old Montreal.
Appreciate the last of winter by skating on the outdoor Parc La Fontaine rink. Or cuddle up as you view the city’s snow-covered skyline from the La Grande Roue de Montreal – a Ferris wheel downtown.
If you prefer to stay warm, head inside to the city’s myriad of museums. The Biodome is a favorite amongst animal lovers and children. You’ll walk through 5 ecosystems and even get to spot some live penguins!
Don’t forget to fill your belly! Montreal is home to some of the best eateries in Canada. Schwartz’s Deli is famous for its Montreal smoked meat sandwiches. Try a Montreal-style bagel at Fairmount Bagel. Or test your sweet tooth with chocolate fondue from Crêperie Chez Suzette in Old Montreal!
The Fairmont Queen Elizabeth is the best hotel downtown. Fairmonts are known for their beauty in Canada and always offer the best quality of service.

Mexico
Holbox Island (pronounced hole-bosh) is one of the best Mexico spring break destinations for those who want the gorgeous beaches of Cancun, without the crowds. In fact, Isla Holbox is located about three hours from Cancun — though it feels like a completely different world! You’ll love visiting in spring because the weather will be perfect: cool yet sunny, with low humidity. Holbox Island is one of the safest places in Mexico, so families, singles, solo travelers, couples, and backpackers alike will love this up-and-coming Mexican island in the Yucatan Peninsula.
The island sits right on the Caribbean Sea, with calm, crystal-clear blue waters and soft white sand beaches. The streets on Holbox Island are paved with beach sand, and you’ll have to get around by bike or on a golf cart, as cars aren’t allowed on Holbox. Though it’s among the most beautiful places in Mexico, Isla Holbox has retained a small-town vibe. There are no big-name all-inclusive resorts, no chain restaurants, and no tourist trap shops; everything on the island is run by its 2,000 residents.
There are so many great things to do in Holbox.
But as an island, the majority of them revolve around being in the Caribbean Sea. Punta Cocos is one of the best Holbox beaches, with colorful hammocks in the water to relax in by day. On nights during the New Moon, you can see bioluminescence in the water on this same beach.
Head to the opposite side of the island to see the posh side of Holbox. If you’re looking for a fancy Spring Break getaway, book a bungalow on Playa Holbox, the island’s main beach. Besides boutique resorts, there are great restaurants and rooftop bars here, like Tamashi Sky Bar and Kukatch.
To get to Holbox Island, first fly into Cancun International Airport (code: CUN). Next, you’ll make your way to the small town of Chiquila, Mexico, by bus, private shuttle, or rental car. In Chiquila, you’ll take the 30-minute ferry to Holbox Island. Note: If you’re renting a car, you’ll have to leave it in a paid parking lot next to the ferry dock; they cost about $5USD per day.

Ireland
Dublin, Ireland is the perfect place to spend your Spring Break. As the capital of the Republic of Ireland, Dublin has lots to offer whether you are traveling as a family, with friends, or with your partner. Ireland is definitely known for its unpredictable weather. However, in the Spring, temperatures are usually a bit more comfortable, and days start to last longer. Spring is also a great time to visit Dublin as it is a bit quieter than Summer.
It’s, therefore, easier to find hotels in the city, and flights. It’s also a cheaper season overall to come to Ireland which makes it a great destination for students who want to get a glimpse of Europe but on a budget! A great place to stay in the city would be the Maldron Hotel which is just a few minutes away from Trinity College. If your budget is tight, there are plenty of hostels in the city.
While in Dublin, there are definitely a few visits that must be added to your Dublin itinerary. If you like history, then you will love the amazing Book of Kells library and Dublin castle. If you are more into shopping, Grafton Street is undeniably the place to be. Now, regardless of the style of travel you like, you have to stop by the Temple Bar district and check out the iconic pubs, including the Temple Bar Pub. From the live music to the Irish spirit invading the room, you will be immersed in the Irish culture in a second! For traditional Irish breakfast, stop by O’Neills Pub on Suffolk St.

Philippines
After surviving the long, cold winter nights you deserve a break in a warm climate. What better place to head to than the small island of Boracay in the Philippines. With its 4km long fine white sandy beach, Boracay is the ideal island getaway for everyone, families, couples, and for solo travel. There are plenty of activities to keep you occupied during the day. You can learn to dive on the nearby coral reefs, go kitesurfing, jet skiing, paddle boarding, snorkeling, just chill one the beach, or hike around the small island.
At the end of the day, you could join one of the sunset cruises around the island or just watch one of the best sunsets in the world from the beach. If you are into nightlife there are many bars and clubs to party. Most of the hotels have swimming pools where you can relax too. One of the best places to experience authentic Filipino food in Boracay is at the northside of the island in Hagdan at a small restaurant called Nameet Bar and Restaurant. It is easily found on google maps or its Facebook page.
Accommodation-wise, Boracay has something to suit every pocket, from the internationally famed Shangrila chain down to your basic backpacker hostel. Many beachside hotels are great for families and couples allowing easy access to the sea. Returning home from a spring break in Boracay you will feel fully rejuvenated and ready for the summer.

India
Wayanad is a great place to spend your holidays with friends and family. Surrounded by mountains and coffee plantations, Wayanad is also one of the most popular tourist destinations in South India. The Edakal caves, Kuruva islands, and Soochipara waterfalls are some of the best places to visit in Wayanad. Boating in the Pookode lake, hiking up to the heart-shaped pond on top of the Chembra peak, crossing a lake on a book raft, and going on a safari in the Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary are some of the popular things to do in Wayanad.
The Wilton restaurant and the Coffee Grove Restaurant serve really good Kerala cuisines. Piping hot appams with chicken stew, chattipathiri, and the flavorful Malabar biriyani are some of the must-try foods when you visit Wayanad. There are a lot of resorts and hotels to choose from here. The most exotic of them is the treehouse stay at the Vytri Resort, which provides all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay high above the ground in rustic treehouses. You can also find several cottages set in the plantations and rainforests giving you a perfect vacation away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Another amazing experience to indulge in when visiting Wayanad would be cave camping. Several travel websites offer this and it is a great way to connect with nature. Spring is very vibrant here, so it’s the best time to plan some outdoor activities and make a memorable vacation with your loved ones!

Moorea, French Polynesia
Moorea, an island in French Polynesia, is paradise! Located in the South Pacific it is a perfect island to escape the craziness of everyday life. The Island life can be simple – no movie theater, only one fire station, and chickens that roam free. Fun Fact: there are no natural predators for chickens on Moorea and supposedly no creepy crawlers live here!
Other than sitting at the beach all day, there is so much to do in Moorea! You can hang by the water and snorkel, paddleboard, or canoe. You can head off the resort and book some great excursions. We booked three excursions through Tahiti.com and loved every minute! Book a 4×4 Safari tour of the island. Stop by a pineapple plantation, before heading up Magic Mountain to Belvedere lookout where there was a gorgeous view of the island! At the very end, walk through an area with ancient temple ruins and explore Cook’s Bay! Or take to the water and jet-ski! Drive around Moorea’s two bays and experience the beauty of the island from the lagoon!
